ℹ️ At mym, protecting your content is a priority. If you notice that content published on mym has been downloaded and shared on another website, we do everything we can to have it removed and to identify the user responsible for the leak.
1️⃣ Report the leak immediately
The faster you report it, the better our chances of having the content removed. Contact us with as much information as possible:
- your mym account username;
- the mym link to the content concerned;
- the link to the content on the external platform where it was published.
What mym does after your report
Our customer support team acts quickly to make this content inaccessible:
- mym reviews your report and immediately reports the content to the external platform to obtain its prompt and complete removal.
- Any user responsible for publishing the content externally is sanctioned by mym and may have their account blocked.
- mym may also initiate recovery proceedings if the user is identified.
Sharing content without its creator's consent infringes copyright and privacy rights, and may be prosecuted.
ℹ️ Despite all our efforts, we cannot guarantee the removal of 100% of shared content, as some situations are beyond our control. We remain by your side, with dedicated resources and personalized follow-up.
2️⃣ Get support from a helpline in your country
Many countries have free and confidential helplines that can help you get harmful content removed, advise you on online violence (cyberbullying, revenge porn, personal data breaches…) and support you if you decide to file a complaint.
👉 Find the helpline for your country on betterinternetforkids.eu (European Safer Internet network).
3️⃣ How mym protects your media
Several technical protections limit the copying of your content:
- right-click is disabled on media on computers;
- drag and drop to save media is disabled on computers;
- on mobile, media are protected against saving via a long press;
- video recording is disabled on our streaming players;
- no URL matching is possible between your blurred media and their unblurred sources;
- watermarks are available for your feed media and private media.
👉 Remember to enable your watermarks in your account preferences if you haven't already: they make it easier to identify the person behind a leak.
Zero risk does not exist: for example, it is impossible to prevent a screenshot on mobile, or someone taking a photo of a computer screen. We work every day on new protection techniques.
